Community and Volunteer Service

I've discovered that there are many opportunities for community and volunteer service here in the area. I am very excited about the prospects! After I do some more research I will update everyone!

  2. Cardra Mou: What is on your heart is the very thing that makes our communities a great place to live---community service. Thank you for your heart for others.
Here in the Memphis area my heart is to serve the small business owners in our area. I own a marketing company that is supported by other like-hearted business people who advertise with us. We offer free networking and education for anyone interested in business or real estate.
We have had business owners tell us that at one point or other in their career our group Talk Shoppe has made the difference between their family going out of business and losing everything versus staying in business and learning new strategies to succeed.
Stay with your heart, Cardra Mou. Jo Garner, Talk Shoppe owner and sponsor and mortgage officer with Evolve Bank & Trust www.TalkShoppe.BIZ www.MoneyShoppe.NET

  3. Ditto that from Heidi. It will be interesting to find out where your heart lands you, Cardra Mou.
While I was in Central Maine a few weeks ago I had the opportunity to interact with some volunteers from the Root Cellar in Lewiston, Maine. http://www.therootcellar.org
The Root Cellar ministry serves the poorest community north of Boston. Sixty percent of the families in the area around the Root Cellar are single-parent households and encompass 50 different nationalities in one square-mile radius.
My friend Nancy is a volunteer for the Kids Movie Night. She told me this is an event she looks forward to attending because the kids there are some of the most special in the world to her.
Nancy got involved with the Root Cellar through her church Pathway Vineyard in Lewiston, Maine http://www.pathwayvineyard.com
