The Taste of Greater Waterville Annual Event! I love this community!!!

The Taste of Greater Waterville, presented by Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce, is an annual community event created to celebrate family and friends. Held on the first Wednesday in August since its inception in 1992, thousands of people come to enjoy one of Maine’s most popular outdoor festivities.

As with all traditional family gatherings, food is the core of the Taste. Enjoy food from three different venues;

• “The Bite” – Fast food served from booths throughout the day.

• “A-la-carte” – Full meals served after 5:00 while you’re on the move strolling through downtown.
• "Fine dining" -  Presold tickets to a segregated, more relaxed sit-down dining area.
The day long celebration begins with children’s events including an animal petting zoo, face painting, and other fun activities. Downtown Waterville merchants host events and offer special values throughout the day. Several bands entertain guests throughout the evening with a top name band playing from 8-11 in the popular beer garden.

Waterville Community/Waterville Humane Society

News from our local Humane Society!!!

Do You Love Cats?

The Humane Society - Waterville Area is pleased to announce that we have received financial assistance from the Humane Society of the United States to reduce the euthanasia rates of our feral and semi-feral cats. These cats are not adoptable as indoor pets. Most feral cats exhibit wild, shy or frightened behavior, and it's impossible to predict how or if they will ever acclimate to indoor life. Feral cats make up a large percentage of the four million to six million cats euthanized yearly by U.S. animal shelters.
This kitten season we will be spaying/neutering and providing rabies vaccines to the feral and semi-feral cats that come to our shelter. We will then release these cats at no cost to people who have outbuildings (i.e. barns, sheds, etc.) and are willing to feed and water them daily.
Are you interested in caring for one or more feral cats? Will you give them the chance to live out the rest of their lives with the comfort of a warm sleeping place and regular food and watering schedules? If so, please contact us at 873-2430 For More Information
