Community Market

Barrels Community Market is a nonprofit community market that sells locally produced good  in the heart of Downtown Waterville. I've discovered that the market also offers a wide variety of educational and volunteer opportunities and provides a community event space to showcase an array of great programs. They are centrally located halfway down Main Street. They were established in June 2009. It was named after The Barrel Block, the historic building in which it is located.
Barrels market is great! There are so many wonderful local products for sale, at a reasonable price!
I am excited about all the possibilities for volunteering and community service in our new town!

Community Eventt

This past Saturday the librarian told us that in two weeks, February 5th, the library will have its grand reopening! They will have lot of fun events! This past Saturday they had put on a play about the gingerbread boy, with a reading of the gingerbread girl. It was great! ...Especially since we had just made some gingerbread boys of our own at home the day before the play! We love our community and our public library!!!

Public Library Business and Community

The Waterville Public Library Business & Career Center is a new initiative made possible by a $40,000 start-up grant from KVCAP, a $15,000 gift from the Waterville Rotary Club, and contributions to the current Harold Alfond Foundation matching grant campaign
There will be resources to service a full spectrum of career and business development needs.  Career counselors from the Augusta Career Center will be available three days per week and a KVCAP employment services specialist will be available.  They will also be offering workshops to business owners, and providing basic computing skills workshops.
The Waterville Public Library Business & Career Center will be located in what was the main circulation desk area of the Library.  The BCC will be open upon completion of the Library renovation project. I plan on taking advantage of this wonderful new free service that will be available to all local residents!
