Waterville Community/Humane Society in need of Dog/Cat Food!

Our Waterville Humane Society has told our community that they are in desperate need of dog and cat food.  There are over 35 dogs at our shelter, and over 100 cats.  Please help our humane society in any way you can. That includes food, supplies, and volunteers!  THANK YOU!!!!  I know our furry four footed friends appreciate all your help!

Waterville Community/Farmer's Market

Farmer's Market


Jan 01 thru Dec 31, 2012. The Downtown Waterville Farmers' Market runs year round. From May 1 through November 30 it is open on Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Concourse on Appleton Street. Winter hours are from 2 to 4 p.m. on every third Thursday.

This event is a festive and creative day of fun for the whole family!!  There will be many artists, an art scavenger hunt,  hair wraps/face painting, live music, local foods, etc.!  Come out for a fun event in our wonderful Waterville community!!!

Free as a Bird: Raising Chicks from Hatch to Pullets

Join
Barrels employee and small hatchery owner Jean Rosborough for an
evening of chicken husbandry! Jean will facilitate a discussion on the
difference between modified breeds versus heritage breed chickens and
their benefits. Learn how to raise chicks to laying hens or for meat.
Discussion will include best housing options, general chick husbandry
and how to manage common ailments.This will be a highly interactive
workshop with discussion following the participant’s interests in the
subject. There will be chicks and chickens attending as well!

All you can eat Breakfast Buffet!!!  The Waterville Human Society is hosting a ALL YOU CAN EAT Breakfast Buffet on March 18, 2012 from 8AM-10AM At Park Residences 141 West River Road Waterville.  Adults $7.00  Children under 12 $4.00.  All proceeds to benefit the Waterville Humane Society!

Saturday, March 3, 2012 come celebrate the birthday of Dr Seuss!!!  There are many wonderful events planned including Musical Storytime with Mr. Harley 10:30AM to 11:30AM at the library...songs, dance, and stories by surprise guests!
Hat Making Workshop 11AM to 12:30 at Freshwater Arts. 
Beyond "One Fish, Two Fish" 1:00 to 2:30 on the 4th floor of the library.
A Seussian Buffet 2:00PM to 4PM at Barrels Community Markey.
Seuss Poetry Jam 4PM to 6P at Selah Tea.

These events are FREE and open to the public!!!!`

Maine Open Juried Art Show, March 17-April 20, 2012
The Waterville Area Art Society and Waterville Main Street are proudly co-presenting the 2012 Maine Open Juried Art Show at the spectacular, newly-renovated Waterville Public Library in Downtown Waterville. Now entering its 22nd year, the Maine Open Juried Art Show attracts over 80 artists representing over 50 Maine communities and a variety of media, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, and other media.

Another wonderful event in our local community of Waterville!!!

Waterville has a new Mayor!!! Heck Yes!!!  Congratulations Karen!!!  The inaugural ceremony held last night at Waterville High School was wonderful! The talent of our local youth was amazing!
Karen's vision for Waterville as a vibrant and prosperous community is the spark that this city has been waiting for!!!
